Job Description

Our Investment Banking department is actively looking for an Associate for our New York office. The candidate will join our dedicated M&A team and working closely with senior members across our industry groups, with opportunities to gain exposure to both sell side and buy side advisory for public and privately held companies.

Responsibilities:

• Researching industry sector and capital markets insights
• Assessing comparable companies, precedent transactions and potential investors/buyers
• Preparing and reviewing complex financial analyses and models
• Crafting detailed memos, presentations and pitches
• Conducting due diligence investigations
• Coordinating group efforts for pitch and transaction related activity
• Presenting materials internally to senior bankers and externally to clients of the fir
• Training and mentoring Analysts within the team

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in M&A investment banking
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product
• Strong work ethic and team player
• Organized and proactive
• Dealogic, CapIQ, Bloomberg and MS Office suite knowledge strongly preferred
• Series 63, 79 licenses and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam required at time of hiring or shortly thereafter

Compensation:

For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
